EVOSST Highlighted During the Visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to the Institute for Neurodevelopmental Disorders in Amiens
The EVOSST Horizon Europe project was highlighted during a recent visit by French President Emmanuel Macron to the Institute for Neurodevelopmental Disorders at the Amiens University Hospital in France.
During the visit, our colleague Federica Cilia from the University of Picardie Jules Verne (UPJV) and students supported through the Atypie-Friendly programme presented activities and initiatives aimed at supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Among the materials presented was a poster showcasing the EVOSST project and the development of a serious game designed to support students with ASD through social cognition training. As part of the presentation, an overview of the programme’s broader framework was also provided, including ongoing activities linked to EVOSST.

The visit included an extended discussion between President Macron and three autistic students from the University of Picardie Jules Verne (UPJV) participating in the Atypie-Friendly programme. During the exchange, the students spoke about their experiences at university and the support they receive through the programme, highlighting the importance of inclusive initiatives in higher education.

In addition, EVOSST-related activities were highlighted through dedicated posters and discussions, while the WP5.2 serious game was presented to Bertrand Monthubert, the national coordinator of the Atypie-Friendly programme. The game forms part of EVOSST’s efforts to support students with ASD through innovative and evidence-based approaches.

Within this context, EVOSST contributes to the development of tools and methodologies that help assess the well-being of students receiving support services, while exploring innovative ways to strengthen inclusion and participation in higher education.
The visit provided an opportunity to showcase initiatives that promote inclusion, accessibility, and support for students with ASD, while highlighting the importance of maintaining and strengthening such programmes. During the discussions, students shared their experiences and confirmed the positive impact that these support mechanisms can have on their academic and personal development.

Through its activities, EVOSST aims to better understand and evaluate the impact of social services on people’s well-being, supporting more inclusive and effective services across Europe.
