How Medical Device Apps Are Shaping the Future of Health & Wellbeing: Healthentia in the EVOSST Project

In recent years, our phones have evolved from simple communication tools into powerful gateways for managing our health. From tracking steps and sleep to monitoring heart rhythms and glucose levels, medical device apps are transforming how people engage with their wellbeing. They’re smart, connected, and increasingly personalized.

These apps can go beyond fitness, supporting functions such as health monitoring, medication adherence, and remote patient monitoring. With the rise of wearable sensors and artificial intelligence, digital health is increasingly reshaping how we think about care.

But with so many apps on the market, one key question emerges:
Which ones are truly reliable, safe, and clinically valuable?

That’s where Healthentia comes in.

What Makes Healthentia Different?

Healthentia isn’t just another health app. It’s a certified medical device software designed to support both clinical trials and real-world monitoring. Individuals use it to report health information — from daily habits to symptoms — while healthcare providers and researchers gain real-time insights to support care and decision-making.

Unlike general wellness platforms, Healthentia complies with strict medical standards, making it trusted for use in regulated environments. But what truly sets it apart is how human-centered and proactive it is.

At the heart of Healthentia is a Virtual Coach — a dynamic assistant that helps guide users toward healthier habits. The coach delivers tailored nudges, feedback, and behavioral change coaching, based on the individual’s data and context. Whether it’s encouraging a patient with chronic illness to stick to their medication routine or suggesting small lifestyle adjustments, Healthentia goes beyond monitoring — it also supports behavioral change.

This combination of smart data, human insight, and behavioral science enables more personalized and impactful care.

Healthentia in Action: The EVOSST Project

We’re excited to share that Healthentia is playing an active role in the EVOSST project. Innovation Sprint will lead Pilot Scenario 1 with Healthentia, targeting individuals living in rural areas in Belgium. These communities often face unique challenges in accessing healthcare and social services. Through Healthentia, we will monitor their experiences, behaviors, and needs in real time — not only to improve individual wellbeing, but also to generate new metrics and insights into how social services are delivered and how they impact population health.

By combining digital innovation with on-the-ground social engagement, Healthentia becomes more than a tool — it becomes part of a systemic transformation in how we care for people in underserved areas.

Stay tuned to follow this journey as we turn technology into real-world impact.
